The role of technology in critical work environments

10 December, 2023

Did you know that threats and violence affect people at work more often than in any other context? People working in an environment characterised by insecurity or fear cannot do their best work. Therefore, in critical work environments where communication needs to be clear and direct, technology plays an essential role. A lone worker, for example, relies heavily on functioning technical communication to feel safe and secure in their work role.

Developed by COBS

Our latest application COBS Lynx, together with Versity smartphones, is a tool for staff working in high-risk environments and provides the user with reliable management of alarms and messages.

Lynx is an application developed by COBS for alarm and notification management on Android devices. The solution is suitable for professional environments where internet connectivity cannot be sufficiently guaranteed and where disruption is not an option. Here, secure and stable mission-critical communication is a top priority.

With Lynx, the customer takes command of the entire alarm chain and, together with system integration, also has the opportunity to customise the system according to their needs. The risk of external influences such as hacking and downtime is also reduced.

Lynx together with Versity smartphones

Lynx is specifically designed for Versity VoWiFi smartphones, developed for professional environments, with integrated alarm button management. The app together with the Versity 92 series gives you a robust and cost-effective solution when the coexistence of more data-driven, content-rich apps is desired and where DECT is not an adequate alternative.

Lynx is also excellent in conjunction with the larger Versity 95/96 series of VoWiFi smartphones for those who want a larger screen and where uninterrupted 24/7 communication is required, which can be offered thanks to completely uninterrupted battery replacement. This means that the user can change the battery during use without the slightest interruption, which is optimal in a hospital environment, for example.
