Safety Alarms
Safety Alarms for Municipalities, Nursing Homes, and LSS
COBS safety alarms are solutions designed to create a safer and more secure environment within healthcare, education, and other workplaces where quick assistance may be crucial. The alarm system enables staff to quickly call for help in emergency situations, providing increased security and support in their work. Through enabling real-time communication and rapid response times, COBS contributes to a safer and more efficient work environment, prioritizing both the safety of staff and the users.
Safety Alarms with Integration Toward Security Systems
COBS safety alarms can easily be integrated with other security systems to create a comprehensive solution that provides a strong safety network within the organization. By connecting the safety alarm with systems such as access control, fire alarms, and video surveillance, alarms can be effectively coordinated and delivered to the right people in near real time. This enables faster response and allows responsible personnel to gain an overview of the situation. The integration with other security systems also enables the possibility to automate certain actions, like locking doors or activating cameras in an emergency. This further enhances the safety for both the staff and users.
Our Types of Safety Alarms
COBS offers numerous safety alarms with a wide range of security functions, developed to ensure safety in a variety of user activities. These include personal alarm systems, stationary safety alarms like Accept in the Alert4U2 portfolio, as well as a series of smaller alarm transmitters including PAT, PAT+, PAF+ and PAL+. These alarm transmitters are integrated with two-way communication and have the ability to be integrated with other security systems.

Alert4U2 Portfolio
COBS Alert4U2 alarm transmitters are designed to be used in the most varied environments and are optimized for customers who need personal safety and comfort in a user-friendly and portable design, that are easy to use, carry and are reliable.
The Alert4U2 portfolio includes a series of small and unique portable alarm transmitters, as well as sensors and wall mounted alarm transmitters. They combine the ultra-portable pocket-size alarm transmitter functionality with precise locationing with LF-RFID. The alarm transmitters are wireless, configurable and waterproof according to IP67.
The portable alarm transmitters are designed to be worn on a pocket with a clip, with a wristband, or around the neck with a safety release.
The sensors (movement, fire, door, etc.) and the wall mounted alarm transmitters offer a range of wireless options for input, output contact and activity sensor.
The localization technology is the same for Alert4U2 as for CWS systems, making it a very cost-efficient solution and enabling a more intelligent handling of alarms.
This safety alarm portfolio can be seen in nursing homes, social care offices, emergency rooms, etc. Alert4U2 is there for you when you need easy access to an alarm system with quick responses by the right personnel.
PAT & PAT+
Our PAT and PAT+ alarm transmitters are the ideal solution for social care offices, emergency rooms, or nursing homes where, for example, dementia alarms or wanderer alerts are needed. These alarm transmitters are small and can be worn in several ways, to increase security and personal safety.
Users themselves can raise the alarm by pressing the alarm button. The alarm is then sent to the radio receiver A-TRAX or A-TRAX IP which forwards the alarm to COBS Alarm and Messaging Server (CMS). These alarms can then be displayed on various devices, such as COBS wireless DECT phones or smartphones with the Lynx app, alerting the right personnel to action, decreasing response time and increasing efficiency in the workplace.
The PAT+ is like the PAT, only it has the possibility for the customers to change the battery.
PAF+
While our PAF+ alarm transmitters have similar functions to the PAT+, PAF+ is designed to detect hard falls in situations where the user cannot press the button after a fall. The user wears the alarm transmitter as a bracelet or around the neck. When the PAF+ detects a fall, it will send a fall-alarm to predefined users.
This alarm transmitter is especially useful for lone workers, elderly, users with Parkinson’s disease, and people with impaired mobility. In situations like slipping and falling backwards, falling due to loss of consciousness, or tripping on an object and falling forward, it is crucial that the user gets help immediately to make sure that there are no serious injuries. In this case, having the PAF+ on is fundamental.
PAL+
COBS PAL+ alarm transmitter has similar features to its siblings in the series. What differentiates the PAL+ from the PAT/PAT+/PAF+ is that it is built with an integrated location receiver. It detects LF-RFID location beacons and thus can give accurate positioning data when an alarm is raised either manually or automatically when the user passes a position that delivers the positioning data.
Automatic alerts can be programmed for dementia alarms. PAL+ also has built-in motion sensor alarms or inactivity alarms and can therefore give an alarm when a period of inactivity occurs.
How do our safety alarms work in practice?
Alarm Activated
In case of a potentially dangerous situation, like a fall, assault or other threatful event, the user presses the alarm button. A message is then sent to the COBS messaging server and an event handler will, based on predefined configuration, distribute the message to inform colleagues, follow up and escalate if necessary.
Alarm is Received by Receiver
When an alarm is received to a user’s portable device, it will, based on content, display an icon, color code and text, sound an alarm, vibrate and provide the user with critical information about the event. This includes alarm type, location, priority and other useful content.
Action
When a user (or predefined number of users) acknowledges the alarm by pressing a button, an update will be sent to all other users, removing the alarm from their devices. This keeps the list of active alarms to a minimum and by that also minimizing the risk of confusion. A busy user may decline the alarm which will escalate the alarm to a back-up team. Depending on alarm type and beep code, the user intuitively knows whether to walk or run to the location of the alarm and support the colleague in need.
Follow-Up
All activities can be logged and stored for evidence of activity and for statistics, helping the organization to be better prepared for the next event.
It is important to note that depending on the type of safety alarm, what these functions look like in practice may vary. However, all COBS systems are configurable and adaptable to your needs.
